Toddler Class 2-3 Age Group

Service Description

This class is held from 9-11 on Monday OR Wednesday. You choose which day works best for you and your child. During the session children spend half their time (usually first 45 minutes): Discovering school is a place to try new things, explore their own ideas, make "messes" Playing together, alongside, or solo, imitating or trying to negotiate new friend skills Exploring in a play based learning environment; including dramatic areas, small manipulative toys, writing tables, sensory bins, puzzles, building areas, easels/brushes-paint, gym and large muscle play During the remainder of the session (last 45 min) group learning occurs, reinforcing group norms and pre-academics: Listening and following direction and group routines (circle time, games, art) Learning literacy (reading, writing), pre-math concepts (counting, sorting, patterns) Developing independence, making decisions and choices (self regulation, group participation/norms)
